The health care reform bill is currently being debated in the Senate. As the bill stands now, I don't think it will be passed into law. There are too many people in America who strongly oppose government-run health care. This reform is seen by many people as a challenge to our capitalist society and values. While I personally don't think it is as socialist as people think, I am still against the idea of the government providing an option to compete against private sector companies. The price tag for the new plan is also a huge source of concern. We simply cannot afford to go deeper into debt.

But if we don't provide a government option or something like that how will everyone be covered? I know that doesn't matter to you now but one day you could be poor, and hurt (surprise surprise)and need a government option. Everyone deserves to be covered, I don't see how it'll happen without that option.
ReplyDeletei agree with joey and disagree with emile .. i belive that we should be able lto cover every one in the usa with heath care come on emile thats kinda a selfish view i belive that the media is starting to lean toards the consevitives not the librails like we alll seam to beilve thats why emile thinks soo radically
ReplyDeleteI agree with Emile. I think that there are too many people opposed to government run health care for the bill to get passed. Going further into debt is something we need to avoid, and the creation of a new government sector would do the opposite.
