4. What is the cartoon's message? The cartoon's message is that Gilbert Arenas has set a bad example for all of his young fans. Many of these young fans already lean towards violent lifestyles, and Arenas' bringing a gun into the locker room just causes these young fans to think that that lifestyle is ok since their sports hero does the same.
5. Do you agree with this message? I completely agree with the cartoon's message. Professional athletes, especially stars like Gilbert Arenas, have a greater responsibility than just to play well. They are role models to countless young fans, and should therefore be held to higher standards than the rest of society. Suspension is not a strict enough punishment for Arenas.

Yeah man that Gilbert Arenas dealio was pretty crazypants. Its quite annoying when celebrities think they are above the law because of their popularity. I just don't understand how he could think that brining guns to a public area is a safe idea in any sort of way.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The Arenas situation is ridiculous. They feel that they are above the law because people have so much admiration for them. All the money these star athletes earn, goes to their head. Its very disappointing.
ReplyDelete"Crazypants" is the only way to describe the whole situation. I know that as a fan I am extremely disappointed in Arenas' actions. Any young children who only see that he brought a gun to the locker room, and don't understand the "joke" Arenas was trying to pull, then he has lost himself many young people's support, as well as any other fans. What a jerk.
